In the past few years cellphone users became smarter along
with the phones. In the very beginning phones were used as just a way of fast
communication but today’s users more likely to have PDA (Personal Digital
Assistant) in their pocket than just a merely mobile. And in the process of
getting smarter, today’s mobiles must have tons of features and functionalities.
As a result, they tend to Heat a lot easily. With the on demand increasing
features, their Radiation levels are also increasing. And now it has become a
serious issue of users physical safety throughout the world.
So, What is SAR Value?
Cellphones emit RadioFrequency (RF) energy (radio
waves), a form of non-ionizing radiation, from their
antennas. And Specific
Absorpation Rate (SAR) is a
measure of the rate at which this energy is absobed by human bodies or
by tissues when exposed to that RF. Its maseaused by the Units of watts per
Kilograms (W/Kg).
It has some other divisions.
- Whole Body SAR
- Partial Body SAR
- head SAR
- local SAR

There are many easy ways to find SAR information for
cellphones. I’ve listed some of them…
- Dial *#07# from your dialpad it will tell you your devices Sar Value.
- Check the phone handbook or user manual, look under safety or specifications
- Search the manufacturer’s web site for your phone model and SAR .it is usually listed under safety, or product specifications.
- Use Google to search for your phone model and SAR
- Contact the manufacturer and ask for the SAR information
- Check the web site of the government regulator in your country
From 1st Sept. 2013, only the mobile handsets with revised
SAR value of 1.6 W/kg would be
permitted to be manufactured or imported in India.
In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) sets the exposure limit for the general public to be an SAR level of 1.6 watts per kilogram (1.6 W/kg) also.
I think that much data was enough to make you aware. Now do some homework before buying a mobile. If you find this useful why not share it with friends? You can comment below if you want to add something.
